Live event - Talking Threads hosted by The Embroiderers' Guild

Textile artists and designers Elizabeth Ashdown and Jayne Emerson in conversation about embroidery, weaving and passementerie

Join me for a creative, fun, and fabulous conversation with Jayne Emerson on Thursday, September 12th at 7 PM UK time. Hosted online by The Embroiderers Guild, Susan Weeks of Stitchery Stories will be guiding our conversation. This should be an exciting exchange of ideas and the chance to see two great makers exploring what-ifs, happy accidents, and the cross-pollination of textile techniques, along with their art and plans.

We will be discussing the role of traditional craft and textile techniques in our contemporary work including passementerie, embroidery, weaving, tassel making, handmade textiles & textile printing, amongst much more!

If you haven’t come across Jayne before, she is a conceptual textile designer living in rural Gloucestershire. For the past 30 years, she has sold her innovative design samples to clients ranging from Chanel and Dior to John Lewis and Boden. She loves to reimagine textile techniques and mix them up into 'Fabric Recipes'. She predominantly uses reclaimed and vintage cloth and her process champions play and material-led exploration. She shares her ideas via her online courses and membership No Rules Textile Society.
